TRIP TO OCEAN SHORES
AGE 4, MONTH 11
JUL 24 – JUL 28 (2019)
WEDNESDAY, JULY 24
On the way to Ocean Shores, we dined at a Carl’s Jr. to have a Beyond Meat burger and fries (yum!). More importantly, we gave Todd a trampoline park experience at Boom Shaka, in Olympia, WA. He found out about this place by watching Blippi’s YouTube video, “The Trampoline Park with Blippi”. See post, “Boom Shaka Trampoline Park (July 2019)” for the video clips.
At Grammie’s house, we built a train. We went to the beach and did some kite flying. Todd liked stomping on the dead crabs and running from the waves.
THURSDAY, JULY 25
In the morning, we went to the beach, walking in the warm tide pools and running from the cold waves.
At around noon, Granddad (86) went on a bike ride, while Eric rode his skateboard. In the afternoon, we rode our scooters/skateboard on the road, and Todd built a new train configuration.
FRIDAY, JULY 26
In the morning, we went to the Ocean Shores Coastal Interpretive Center. Todd’s favorite room housed the Habitat exhibit, with animal displays. We checked out the Matthew McGee Nature Trail before heading to Damon Point Beach.
Damon Point beach…(Todd took some good pictures)
In the afternoon, we went to the Ocean Shores Community Club pool for the first time. Todd enjoyed his first jump off the diving board after completing the swim test (he had to make it across the pool width-wise and back again). See post, “Ocean Shores Community Club Pool (July 2019)” for all the videos.
Eric did some fab dives!!
After doing basic jumps, Todd tried to bounce the diving board before jumping in…
On Jeopardy that night, Todd answered two questions correctly! The answers were “Great White shark” and “Thresher shark.”
SATURDAY, JULY 27
In the morning, I went for a 2.14 mile walk on Grammie’s road and beach. Todd played Hill Climb Racer (‘the car game’).
Next, we went to the beach.
In the house, Todd liked building, disassembling and rebuilding the small Lego fire set. In the afternoon we went out for dinner with Grammie and Granddad at Los IV Hermanos.
Later, we went to the pool once again. Todd did a few diving board jumps, then mostly swam around with his goggles on.
Before bed, Todd liked watching the American Ninja show. This got him pumped to try his own moves!
SUNDAY, JULY 28
In the morning we went to the beach one last time.
On our way home, we made another stop at Boom Shaka. For lunch, we tried a place called Pho and Baguette, where Todd actually tried (and liked) some plain rice noodles.
View of Mt. Rainier from the highway…
Immediately after getting home, he started putting together many mixed up Lego figures.
